Overview

K2 or Mount Godwin-Austen, also known as Chogho Ree among the locals. The world’s second-highest peak with a height of 8611m from the sea level. A perfect adventure for mountaineers and climbers. But, before thinking about K2, it is highly recommended that an adventurous trip up to the K2 base camp must be made. It will help you understand what difficulties you may face if you make your determination towards K2. Trekking up to the K2 base camp gives a great experience of trekking in the extreme weather conditions and deadly routes of the Karakoram range. The K2 base camp is located at a height of about 5100m from the sea level. The K2 base camp serves as the base camp for various other high peaks of the Karakoram range including the Broad peak and Gasherbrum peaks. The duration of this trekking usually ranges from two to three weeks
Pastore Peak
Pastore Peak is situated in the Karakoram Range in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. It is one of the 6 thousanders lying at a height of 6209 m above sea level. It is sandwiched between the mighty K2 and the massive Broad Peak. Pastore Peak may not be as famous as some of its neighbouring peaks like K2 or Broad Peak, but it has still attracted the attention of mountaineers over the years. This peak is also characterized as an ideal peak to experience high altitude and ice climbing. The landscape is surrounded by towering peaks, glaciers, and alpine meadows. Wildlife such as ibex, snow leopards, and various bird species can also be spotted in the region. The surrounding is inhabited by Balti people with their unique traditions and customs. Climbers often have the opportunity to interact with local communities along their journey. Climbing Pastor Peak is considered easy one but it may still present various challenges to mountaineers, including extreme weather conditions, technical difficulties in climbing, altitude sickness etc. The remoteness of the area and the lack of infrastructure add further challenges to any expedition. The peak features steep icy slopes, rocky terrain, and often challenging climbing conditions.
