Overview

Rakaposhi is the 27th highest mountain in the world, at a height of 7,788 m from sea level, located in the Karakoram Range in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. The expedition starts from the beautiful village of Minapin in the Nagar Valley. This expedition typically takes around 40 to 42 days, including some time for the acclimatisation at different camps and exploration of the surrounding areas. Starting from the Minapin village, the expedition will cover many beautiful and panoramic valleys of the north allowing the climbers and mountaineers to explore the stunning beauty of nearby places. This also includes beautiful glacial landscapes and many sky-touching peaks including the notable Diran Peak and the Rakaposhi itself. Rakaposhi expedition demands climbers and mountaineers with high experience and is as challenging as the other peaks in the northern areas. Climbers can experience high altitudes, unpredictable weather, difficult terrain and snow storms or even avalanches. Like the other Peaks in the Karakoram or the Himalayan range, the ideal time for the Rakaposhi Expedition is during the summer months from June to August when the weather is more stable.
