Overview

Latok Ogre, located in the Panmah Muztagh in the Karakoram Range, is a group of captivating peaks which includes Latok I, Latok II, Latok III and Latok IV. These peaks are known for the difficulties and challenges while climbing which makes them a dream adventure for climbers and mountaineers. The region's unpredictable weather and remote location contribute to further difficulties for the climbers. They often attempt Latok Ogre as a great achievement in high-altitude mountaineering. Latok I: Latok I is approximately 7,145 meters height from sea level. It is popular for its North Ridge, which remained unclimbed for many years, gaining a reputation as one of the most coveted and elusive objectives in high-altitude mountaineering. In 1979 a Japanese Expedition first climbed Latok1 starting from Baintha Lukpar Glacier and reaching the East Ridge. In 2018, a Russian team successfully climbed the North Ridge. Latok II: Latok II is adjacent to Latok I approximately 7,108 meters in height. Latok II has fewer attempts compared to Latok I. The climbing challenges and conditions are somehow similar in both, making it a very demanding peak for mountaineers. Latok III: Latok III holds a height of approximately 6,949 meters. This peak has gotten less attention as compared to its neighbouring peaks, but it is still a hard challenge to climb Latok III. Latok IV: It is also located in the Latok Group alongside Latok I, Latok II, and Latok III with a height of approximately 6,456 meters. Latok III and IV are not as well-known as Latok I and Latok II. Just like Latok III, Latok IV is also a less attempted peak.
